The northern glow, also called Aurora Borealis, is one of the most familiar and astonishing phenomena to be predicted. This phenomenon occurs due to strong currents of charged particles coming from the sun. The currents are "drained" toward the poles, where the earth's magnetic field is extremely weak and glowing with contact with certain gases in the atmosphere.
