The underwater ice pillars are formed in the Arctic, with water freezing around the salt, which falls off frozen glaciers. Stalactites are amazingly beautiful, but can be dangerous. The stalactites plummet toward the ocean floor quickly, and can kill animals on their way.

The ice blade is one of many forms in which snow and ice accumulate. Thin blades can be found only in dry areas, for example in the Andes, in areas higher than 4 kilometers. The height of the columns can reach even 5 meters.
