My mother, I called her stone,so that she would be enduring, yes,but not alive. My friends, I called them feet, because I was only ever happywhen we were leaving. And my sea, I named it sky, because my waves reachedway too far.And my sky, I named it heart, because I liked touching the sun inside itwith my hand.I've never had a quiet alphabet, nor servile,I always turned the pages with fire.No teacher has ever been good enoughto breathe my oxygen and my play. And work, I called it pleasure, because semantics is either violence,or an opinion. But it's not my fault, don't jump all over me,if my desire for freedom, today, is also a needfor confusion. And pleasure, I called it will, because Spring was bursting in melike a caress. To melt, mix up, blend again, finally, to refoundthe alphabet of lifeon beauty's rocks of honey. And power,in its immense intelligence,in its complexity, has never moved me with its solitude,I've never greeted it as such. But I've taken up the challenge, with much elegance and much confidence, ever since I called prison its happiness. And power, since that day, has been chasing mewith its fear-spiked shoes. It chases me on its own mountains, the mountains which I call plains.
