Reunion Island described as an earthly paradise. In the 15th century it is located nominal Arab sailors on a map, since in 1516 the Portuguese Pedro Mascaren rediscovered the island, which he called the Mascarenes. In 1638, on the feast day of Saint-Paul, the Frenchman Salomom Goubet, commander of the vessel Saint-Alexis, landed in a bay which he named Saint-Paul. But still visit today, he says the French island.
