The book was first published in Denmark 2010, the english edition came 2016. It is a good guide for people, who are either highly sensitive or someone close to them is. The book explains the concept of high sensitivity and gives tips for gentle people and their loved ones on how to be happier.

The work was written by a danish writer and at the end of the book there is a questionnaire, that has been developed in Denmark to assess peoples sensitivity. We are all on the sensitivity scale and constantly moving there, but are we hypersensitive? This questionnaire is helpful here, and the book provides useful tips, a list of activities, that can help increase joy and well-being.Many people, who avoid crowded places and noisy people, get tired quickly, consider themselves introverted, and think, that their hypersensitivity is a limitation. But this book will help such people make better use of these qualities of their character and their loved ones to better understand them.Because such people are constantly being encouraged to be different - braver, more open, more energetic, more courageous, etc., many have certainly tried to be different, but this kind of not accepting yourself leads to low self-esteem and can lead to constant comparison with others. It is estimated, that one in five people is highly sensitive. In the past, hypersensitive people have been referred to as introverts, but in reality, 30 percent of hypersensitive people are quite socially extroverted. Hypersensitivity is also described by words such as restrained, anxious or shy, but that's what others see. Such people feel lonely and insecure inside. In fact, while hypersensitive people may face more problems and challenges in life, they can be very happy inside and enjoy life more than others in a peaceful and supportive environment. Studies have shown, that in stressful situations the number of morbidity and accidents with such children is higher than by usual children, while in a normal safe environment it is lower than by other children.Hypersensitive people have very delicate nervous systems. They register more nuances, they have a vivid imagination and outside information can unleash a flood of ideas, emotions and thoughts. This way they can quickly feel in company, that the amount of incoming information crosses borders, causing them anxiety and tension. To avoid this, they either leave early or leave somewhere for a while to be alone.Under unfavorable conditions, such as loud music or noisy, cold, nervous environment, such people suffer more than others, while in a favorable environment, such as in peaceful nature, by reading a book or in the middle of beautiful art, they enjoy more.Hypersensitive people are usually compassionate. In addition, their conscientiousness can make them feel responsible to the world. This kind of taking responsibility for others and trying to make things better in every situation, as often as it is up to the people involved to resolve them, quickly sucks the energy out the sensitized person, and so they often feel tired. They don't need much to get inspired. This often gives them a tremendous amount of inner strength and willpower, a need to do something, that keeps them up at nights and if they sleep, their dreams are exciting and colorful. The dividing line between their consciousness and the subconscious is very thin and their connection with divinity is strong. This often does not require the help of priests or religions, exposure to something supreme is natural for hypersensitive people, but they do not need to share it with others. They often have a strong bond with nature and animals.A cautious strategy is very common for hypersensitive people, which can slow down the progress of their actions, and worrying, that something might go wrong, makes them nervous. At the same time, their thinking is detailed, which contributes to perfection. They always have a plan B. Relaxation techniques and meditation could help well by such anxiety. Hunger, thirst, cold, long arguments should be avoided, as they affect the hypersensitive person more than others. There is a lot of information in the whole book, that helps us to understand hypersensitive people and to recognize hypersensitivity within us.
