Probably one of the most dangerous professions in the world and surely some of you have seen the series of Radical Fishing (Deadliest Catch) and I imagine you already have an idea of the risk of this job.
In the United States, according to a report published in 2011 by the Ministry of Labor, the mortality rate for the deep-sea fishing profession is 34.6 times higher than for all other trades combined (the calculation was made on data from 100,000 employees of various trades).
There are many professions in the world, of that there is no doubt, but some deserve all our respect for the degree of danger they come to have. Well yes! Sure that some of them will have risk premiums but, not everything is rosy, earning your livelihood can even cost you your life. So if you're one of the people who complains about your job and considers it the worst in the world, whether it's because you're bored or have a boss you've already imagined a thousand ways to end it, you should put those thoughts aside and be thankful that at least your life isn't at stake, or at least yours.
