Il primo connubio col vino - first marriage with wine

Il mio caro amico Giacomo Bindi fu provvidenziale con una telefonata… mi esortò a cercare sollievo nella mia arte e mi commissionò un quadro, questo quadro  sarebbe diventato l’etichetta di un’edizione limitata del suo brunello ” Il Cocco”, quella del 150° anniversario dell’unità d’Italia.

Pensai a cosa definisse il Bel Paese nell’immaginario comune

…il buon cibo…il buon vino… le belle donne

e cosa li contraddistingue ? il piacere.

Decisi di rappresentare una donna dai seni floridi e la cui mente sembra fondersi o forse perdersi nel fondo di un calice. Il cuore è un grappolo appena colto che si connette e fluisce verso una nuova forma, più complessa.

My dear friend Giacomo Bindi was providential with a phone call … he urged me to seek relief in my art and he commissioned me a painting, that would become the label of a limited edition of his brunello ” Il Cocco “, for the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy.
I thought of what the beautiful country defined in the common imaginary
… good food … good wine … beautiful women
and what distinguishes them? the pleasure.
I decided to represent a woman with florid breasts and whose mind seems to merge ,or perhaps get lost, in the bottom of a glass. The heart is a freshly picked bunch that connects and flows towards a new, more complex shape.
