Mandala beauty

One of the most rewarding stages of mandala painting is color preparation.

This stage is not necessary, as there are endless possibilities on the market to buy them ready. 

However, why should you deprive yourself of such a pleasant moment?

Starting from the basic colors (yellow, red, blue, white, and black) I can create all the palettes that my eye and my mind are able to imagine. So then, I begin to visualize, channeling my intent towards the final result I want to achieve

Preparing the color is introductory for painting just as foreplay is for making love: it is care, attention and slowly getting in tune with something that is about to happen and that you hope will be wonderful.

But you can’t win them all.

Nine times out of ten I don't prepare sketches and I draw only some guidelines. I always start from the central point proceeding outwards. So the mandala slowly shows itself, revealing its powerful identity and pushing me into unexpected directions. But it will reveal itself only when I have completed it. Only then, going out of the painting flow, I will change my observation point, to find out what I painted.
