Relationship = communication

🏇 The relationship between human and horses is one of the oldest in history.

 Groundwork techniques are often particularly suitable for getting closer to one another and for actively and passively refining communication. It's not just about dominance, but about the possibilities of not only training your horse from the ground, but also improving communication.

 The main difference between humans and horses is that humans communicate primarily with words and horses mostly with their bodies. If a horse wants to communicate with other horses, this often has to do with movement. Many signals are transmitted through changes in individual parts of the body (ears, head, neck, tail, both) or throughout the body.

The art now lies in finding a common denominator. This is mainly in the so-called body language. The spoken language is rather secondary and a conditioned behavior.

 Basically, we should be aware that we usually force our horses into an artificial environment and then also to interact with us, a social partner who is alien to their species. It is all the more our responsibility to understand and satisfy their needs and behavior as best we can.
