I've read Louise L. Hay's books before, this book was published in 1991 as “The Power Is Within You“. It was released in estonian in 2004 and is a follow-up to “You Can Heal Your Life“. This one i listened in audio, because I run at the same time.

Louise L. Hay does not consider herself a healer, but an intermediate step in the path of self-discovery, helping people remove their blockages so they can love themselves no matter where and in what conditions they are, which does not negate the problems, but changes the way we react to them.

The writer has spent many years counseling, conducting seminars and intensive training programs, and writing several books.

For Louise L. Hay, enlightenment means going inside, knowing who we really are, and being able to make things better by loving ourselves. To love yourself is not at all selfish, but it makes us so pure, that there will be enough love also for others. Love is the force, gratitude, the binding factor that holds the world together and makes it move.

Unfortunately, many people cannot love themselves until they have lost weight, increased wages, found a man or a woman in their lives, or found work, and so on. People often place conditions on love, but in reality, we can love ourselves as we are!

The book deals with topics such as following the inner voice, the power of spoken word, reprogramming old recordings, accepting rewards, expressing creativity, releasing the past, and many more. At the end, there are meditation exercises to heal yourself and the planet.

The book also talks about raising children and gives good tips on how to interact with teens by explaining the well-known truth, that children learn by example - not doing what they are told to do, but doing what grownups are doing. And the more adults respects and love themselves and others, the more children will be able to decide, whom to set as an example.

She also recommends, that everyone in the family would compile a list of their close and distant goals to give young people something positive to aspire to.

It is about maturing and aging, how to deal with it, how to feel great at an advanced age. Because our aging is not dependent on genes but on the biological clock in our brain. This mechanism determines, when and how we begin to age, while the clock is largely influenced by our attitude towards aging. For example, if you think that 30 is the middle-age, the clock in your body will trigger biological changes to speed up the aging process when you are 35. It also counts, how you treat the elderly people, because everything comes back and you will be treated the same way.

But theories of the whole world are useless without action, positive change and healing. That is why it is good to re-read such books from time to time, reminding yourself of the known truths, learning a lot of new things, and reminding to put that knowledge into practice.
