The first costumes were used in prehistory A long time ago, when society had just been built and divided into tribes in prehistoric times, the first men began to use certain "disguises" with different uses. How were these? Men went hunting whenever they could to provide food for their tribes, and on many of those occasions they fought with real beasts such as wolves, bears or mammoths. Many of the people who went out hunting were surprised by the strength of these animals, and tried to acquire their characteristics and skills by putting their skin on.

What is the origin of the word disguise? DISFRAZE. The word disguise comes from the hypercorrection of an older form of "desfrezar", with the value of disguising, concealing. But this form originally meant to erase or mislead the traces left by an animal.
