Preparation:
Wash and cut the lime into wedges, put it in a tumbler with sugar and basil leaves and then mashed to amalgamate the ingredients.

Fill with crushed ice, add rum, fill with ginger ale and the cocktail is ready.
Variations/Versions:
For an even more aromatic and intense “Basito”, put the basil leaves, lime juice and sugar in a blender, add a little water if necessary and blend. Then pour into a cup and complete with rum and ginger ale.

Basil Smash
Ingredients (For 4 glasses of 1,75 dl)
Preparation:
Pour the sugar and basil into the shaker. Beat well with a cocktail pestle. Pour in gin, lemon juice and approx. 3 ice cubes. Close well and shake vigorously for approx. 15 seconds. Fill a cooled glass with ice and pour the liquid through a strainer. Lightly crush the basil leaves and complete the cocktail. Serve immediately.
