Basil PiuSapore® cocktails...a fresh idea for this summer..

Basito (Basil Mojito)
Ingredients:

• 4 leaves of basil
• 2 teaspoons of brown sugar
• 1/2 sliced files
• 4 cl of white rum
• Ginger ale or tonic water or at most carbonated water

Preparation:


Wash and cut the lime into wedges, put it in a tumbler with sugar and basil leaves and then mashed to amalgamate the ingredients.
Unlike the mojito, which must be worked gently, with the Basito pounded as well without mercy!
Fill with crushed ice, add rum, fill with ginger ale and the cocktail is ready.


Variations/Versions:
For an even more aromatic and intense “Basito”, put the basil leaves, lime juice and sugar in a blender, add a little water if necessary and blend. Then pour into a cup and complete with rum and ginger ale.

Basil Smash

Ingredients (For 4 glasses of 1,75 dl)

• 1 teaspoon of very fine sugar
• 2 rametti di basilico
• 5 cl of Gin
• 2 cl fresh lemon juice
• ice cubes for shaking and serving
• basil leaves for garnishing

Preparation:


Pour the sugar and basil into the shaker. Beat well with a cocktail pestle. Pour in gin, lemon juice and approx. 3 ice cubes. Close well and shake vigorously for approx. 15 seconds. Fill a cooled glass with ice and pour the liquid through a strainer. Lightly crush the basil leaves and complete the cocktail. Serve immediately.
