THE GAS BILL HAS BECOME A NIGHTMARE
Some like to play with war ... because so much has found a way to finance it!
Methane has risen to 2,12 euros per cubic meter ... and this rate is applied retroactively also for the gas consumed in January (location: Udine - Italy)!
What can be done?
What I showed you in the cover image is the gas bill received for the month of January 2022: can you imagine what that means?
We urgently need to think of a plan to eliminate our dependence on fossil fuels (gas, oil, coal ...).
We must commit all our efforts to the development of renewable energies.
There is no more time for delays!
It is unthinkable that the problem can be solved by turning to other countries that own gas or oil fields. Or by reactivating coal-fired power plants for the production of electricity (what Italy intends to do)!
It is necessary to study a serious world energy plan, which contemplates the use of all alternative energy sources ... each country for its own possibilities:
- Solar energy (thermal and photovoltaic)
- Geothermal energy
- Wind energy
- Hydroelectric energy
- Marine energy (wave motion, tides, depth currents)
- Biomass, biogas, biodiesel (in a rational way)
- ………………………………….
To date, 81% of the energy consumed in the world derives from fossil or nuclear sources.
It is unthinkable to continue on this path... because at the end of the tunnel there is no light !!!
What can we citizens do?
- In the construction of new houses or in the renovation of existing ones, it is necessary to try to adopt the highest standards of thermal insulation (cold climates) and to adopt the best construction techniques in favor of thermal displacement (warm climates). We must reduce energy consumption for the air conditioning of our homes as much as possible!
- We must choose heating and cooling systems specifically designed to make the most of alternative energy sources. The technologies to do this already exist and the so-called "hybrid solutions" are not the ideal solution!
What should governments do?
- Strengthen aid and incentives for energy efficiency interventions, with a few simple and clear rules! The procedures for accessing the incentives cannot and must not be complicated, cumbersome and with changes to the agenda!
- National energy plans must be cleverly designed to completely eliminate dependence on fossil fuels! If citizens choose the heat pump as a generator for their home, the electricity grid must be optimized for this purpose and electricity must be produced with the use of renewable sources... and not by reactivating coal plants!
In short ... they ask us citizens for continuous sacrifices and efforts to energetically improve our homes, while they continue to desperately search for a "friendly country" that can guarantee the supply of oil and gas ... it is a road that leads nowhere !
