Radiant wall system

What if I have to drive a nail or a dowel?

A legitimate doubt

In every course on radiant wall systems, whether it is a course for designers, installers or end users, this question is asked in a timely and systematic way:
"But if I choose the wall heating ... how will I one day be able to drive a nail or a dowel?"
Yes ... that's right... the pipes are embedded in the plaster. And generally the thickness of the plaster above the pipes does not exceed one centimeter. And then what? Do I give up hanging my paintings? Should I also give up the wall units?

Don't worry ... the solution is very simple!
You can drive nails or drill holes to secure them, but be careful to avoid pipes.
I know ... I can already see your expression ... an ironic half smile. And how do I avoid pipes? I am not a magician!

The solution

The solution is offered to us by a simple device sold in pharmacies or aquarium stores: the tape thermometer!

With a simple "tape thermometer" we can easily identify the position of the pipes under the plaster, and then choose the free points where to drive a nail or drill a hole.
One last tip ...
Even in the presence of the floor system in the bathroom, if we choose wc and bidet that rest on the ground, before making the fixing holes it is good to make sure that there are no passage pipes with a simple tape thermometer.
