Red pill
or blue pill?
In the movie Matrix, Morpheus challenges Neo to choose between the red and the blue pill:
‘Right now there’s only one rule: our way or the highway. Because you have been down there, Neo, you know that road. You know exactly where it ends. And I know that’s not where you want to be.
I imagine that right now you’re feeling a bit like Alice. Tumbling down the rabbit hole, hmm? I can see it in your eyes. You have the look of a man who accepts what he sees because he is expecting to wake up.
The matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.
(Neo asks: ‘What truth?’) That you are a slave, Neo. Like everyone else, you were born into bondage, born into a prison that you cannot smell or taste or touch. A prison…for your mind.
Unfortunately, no one can be told what the matrix is. You have to see it for yourself. This is your last chance. After this, there is not turning back.
You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed, and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.
All I’m offering is the truth. Nothing more.
(Neo chooses the red pill) I did not say it would be easy, Neo. I just said it would be the truth.’

Well, to everyone who is seriously considering hiring a coach and starting a coaching journey, I would suggest going and watching this movie first. If you choose the red pill at the beginning of the movie and you do not regret your choice by the end of the movie, then, and ONLY then, start looking for a coach. Otherwise, keep living your life.
Like Morpheus says at some point: ‘Most people are not ready to be unplugged.’ You need to be willing and ready to go through an unsettling journey that implies some destruction and decluttering, in order to unleash your power and start creating on solid basis. Otherwise, you will just waste your time and be even more frustrated.
Coaching is not about collecting more information on yourself. Coaching is about becoming yourself.
