Are you a D. SITTER?

Where D. stands for...

This morning I went to the park for one of my three daily walks with a young-spirited and friendly Border Collie dog. The park was quiet, so we could play with the beloved orange ball at our convenience.

We were almost at the end of the match, when a curious puppy decided to join us as a dog-ball referee. I started looking around to get the permission to engage the puppy, but, since I could not see anybody, I decided to play safe and just pet her, while walking back to the entrance.

It was there that I met the puppy’s walker, who was chatting with an acquaintance while checking up on the puppy from a distance. I greeted the man and I said something like: ‘How lovely your dog is!’ He did not answer and just gently picked up the puppy.

This ‘I care very much but I am not deeply emotionally involved’ made me think that the man must have been the dog sitter and not the dog owner. Would not you be proud of your dog (especially a cute, fluffy puppy) otherwise?

And this reminds me of a behaviour that many of us display with respect to…dreams! We walk other people’s dreams, we chase other people’s dreams, we even take great care of other people’s dreams, and when someone acknowledges them…we cannot fully perceive their beauty…simply because they do not belong to us!

🐶 Are you the owner of your dreams or you are just the dream sitter?

🐶 Do you take ownership of the real you or you are just sitting someone else’s identity?

🐶 How much do you own the life you long for?

If you want to explore this, I am just a message away!
