Robots have been used to deliver stem cells in the brain of a living mouse.
A team of South Korean scientists working at the Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science & Technology (DGIST) has recently been able to use microrobots to deliver stem cells in a target region located in the brain of a living mouse. Not only the stem cells were able to survive, but also to differentiate in other brain cells (e.g., neurons). This experiment is a milestone as it shows that microrobots could be safe enough to be used on humans. (Original article: https://robotics.sciencemag.org/content/4/30/eaav4317)
