The Danger of Living Separate from God's Peace

Some people have lived in an atmosphere of stress for so long, they cannot remember what it feels like to be encapsulated with a sense of God's peace.
Feelings of anxiety invade our thoughts, and we cannot conceive how we will make it from day to day. However, peace is a gift that God gives each one of us. He tells us to "be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).
In Colossians 3:15, Paul writes, "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which you were called in one body; and be thankful."
When we have a true sense of peace within, then we know that what we are doing is right in the center of God's will.
If there is a lack of peace, stop and take time to pray and ask God to confirm His will for your life and situation. Sometimes you may need to take a step of faith, and then the peace will follow.
In Psalm 55:22, the psalmist writes, "Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken."
God's presence in our lives is our sustaining peace.
