This is How You Could Learn Almost Anything BUT Keep in Mind that Knowledge is Potential, not Power

Reading one of my favorite books today, I got to a very interesting passage that always draws my attention to it. It mainly states: "Knowledge just attracts money when it is directed in a very organized and intelligent way". Then, I've decided to explore this a little better and share some tips.

Poor Man of Science

"Knowledge just attracts money when it is directed in a very organized and intelligent way"

I believe no one hasn't heard the saying: "Knowledge is Power". If that was true, wouldn't we have a world controlled by scientists? The problem with it is, first of all, there are different kinds of knowledge for different purposes. Second, answering the question, knowledge is potential that just translates itself into power if organized and directed for a very focused purpose (that is the main lesson of the passage of this book). Third, as I scientist myself, I can tell that we couldn't care less about power, the knowledge itself and the discovery of new things is what move us and aggregate much value to the world. Yet, when it comes to financial rewards, we certainly are at the bottom of the food chain.

Knowledge is Power

This saying has made a lot of confusion. Which one of us hasn't grown up hearing from our parents and society we should study a lot, to graduate to be rewarded and make money? And how many of us follow these exact steps just to realize this isn't true? Your boss may very well not even be as instructed as you are yet he is surrounded by you and many other people full of knowledge in very specific areas. However, you can be successful by directing the knowledge you have in a very useful way to society to ultimately convert in money.

These lessons I have mentioned so far are all in a classic financial book: Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. (Italian version here)

This is How You Can Learn Anything

Throughout my life, I have used many strategies to learn new things. It is a natural process we should never stop, acquiring knowledge. The more we have, the more valuable we become and the more opportunities we get. Simple as this.

Step 1.   Motivation

I have written a full article here on Cam. Tv about this one because this is the beginning of everything. We can apply it for anything such it is its power. We've got to be motivated if we want to succeed since things are constantly hard at the start of a new project, making us want to give up. You can check it the full article right here: Do You Know the Power of Motivation.

Step 2. Autosuggestion

Defined in the dictionary as: "Increases this probability by priming the brain circuitry - presumably in prefrontal areas - that subserves self-reflective awareness." OK, I must confess that I am skeptical and this one is difficult to believe. However, for some reason it works, our brain has this is strange power to make us move toward our goals if we convince our subconscious of something. We have to put emotion in our statements on things we want to become true.

“We have to put emotion in our statements on things we want to become true”

Step 3. Repetition

Have you ever read a book just one time? Or had and ability and just forgot? If we don't use something, we forget. Our brain deletes what we don't use it just like we delete the trash in our flash drive. The picture above shows the forgetting curve, if we review it, or better, repeat it something it is going to take longer and longer to forget until it becomes stuck in your brain requiring a bigger interval of time until we need to repeat it. This is where resides the power of repetition. Practice, practice, and practice until the knowledge you want to become stuck in your brain.

“Our brain deletes what we don't use it just like we delete the trash in our flash drive”

Use Other People Knowledge

If we feel like it, we can convert our knowledge into money. Always think this, make it automatic: What should I do to make what I know become money? I won't answer it for you because I don't know your ability and you could be more creative than I am. And remember that if we make it automatic, we could surround ourselves with people even smarter than we are and turn their knowledge into money. Remember when I said that your boss could be not as instructed as you and yet be your boss. The ability to see other's people's potential and turning it to money is one of the most special kinds of knowledge. This is a lesson you can also see in the number 1 financial book:

Rich Dad, Poor Dad. (Italian version here)

Final Message

See your knowledge as a potential and direct it to become power and money.
