This artwork is dedicated to Lakshmi, the Indian goddess of fertility and wealth. it was commissioned to constitute a sacred altar and a point of prayer and strength for the home. Lakshmi is a very revered deity and brings abundance, light, progeny, courage, knowledge, prosperity, money and food to the family that invokes it; she is the devil of wisdom and destiny and mother of Kama, deva of love.
it has been painted in an environment where women’s work is done and women’s workshops.
