Build your future, don't predict it

"The best way to predict the future is to build it.  "Abraham Lincoln

If you are asking where you will be in 10 years, look at your life today.  What actions are you taking to achieve your goals?  How many new things do you learn each day?  What people do you associate with?  Are you making the effort to achieve your goals today?

People often think that their lives will suddenly change because of some magical event in the future, but this is not the case.  Your life only changes to the extent that you commit to changing it.

If you are not happy with your current situation, are you taking steps to change it?  If you answer no, you are just dreaming.  Nothing will ever change unless you change what you do on a daily basis.  As Aristotle pointed out over 2000 years ago, "We are what we repeatedly do.  Excellence is therefore not an act, but a habit.

Stop waiting on others or waiting to be ready now, because you will never be 100% ready to change what is wrong in your life.  The need for massive actions that are continued on a regular basis.  Start now; perfect later.

A great way to build your future is to ask yourself: "If I were already achieving my goals, how would I act on a daily basis?  "What books would I read?  How often would I work out and how would I spend my time at work, at home or with my loved ones?

Once you have answered these questions, you will know what to do.

Act as if you have already succeeded.
